Jack Baker’s Lobster Shanty is located in the
heart of downtown, smack on the shores of the
Toms River. The Lobster Shanty is a busy place -
the restaurant hangout to many of the local
professional businesspeople who live and work in
Toms River as well as to hose who are just
longing for some soul-satisfying seafood while
sitting on the shores of the river. We have been
here for many years and take great satisfaction
in consistently offering seafood that is fresh
and delicious. We pair our ocean offerings with
the vegetables, fruits, herbs and spices that
make our creations not only irresistible, but
also unique.
When you come to the Lobster Shanty, you
come to a place of long tradition. The
original owner and founder, Jack Baker,
was a fisherman himself, along with his
father. Many a day and night did they fish off
the chilly waters of the Atlantic, hauling and
cleaning their catch to sell to those men and
women anxious to get a taste of fresh and
nutritious seafood. So, if you’re hankering for
some lovely, plump, grilled sea scallops or a
fillet of tender flounder with
a sweet-spicy salsa, you might find it here.
After all, we are “the place seafood lovers made
famous.”
